Matthias Trinley.
I translate Buddhist texts for a living, and in my free time I like to draw and paint.

Hey! Welcome to narcissism central.
I'm Matthias, a translator in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition and a self-proclaimed artist. When I'm not translating Buddhist scripture, *I* *like* *to* *eat* *crayons,* or even better, draw something whimsical with them.
If you'd like to support my day job, *consider* *becoming* *a* *patron* of Lotsawa House or the Longchen Nyingtik Project.
In my free time I tinker with Linux and AI and poke at computers *until* *they* *do* *something* *fun.*
Drawings.
I start with a simple shape and see what happens. Usually a tug-of-war between form, empty space and colour, and more often than not a creature wins. Pencil and pastel on paper.
Paintings.
Chaos first. Then simple shapes, then faces, figures and whoever else wanders in. Layers of acrylic and pastel, scratched off, layered again. Rinse, repeat.
Now.
What's on the desk at the moment.
